KeyChain’s goal is to supplement and enhance KeyForge organized play. For our closed beta, we’ve been focusing exclusively on LGS-based playgroups to start. For all intents and purposes, that will largely continue to be the case throughout our beta period. However, we’ve stated before that our goal is to eventually expand support to other types of playgroups and events, and we’ll be able to start taking some steps towards that during our beta period in the future.
With Ghost Galaxy’s recent inclusion of complete Vault Tour tournament data in their results articles, we’re pleased to announce that starting with the 2025 Vault Tour season, we’ll be able to add support for premiere tournaments in KeyChain: allowing KeyChain users to earn XP, level up, grow their stats, compete in premiere tournament leaderboards, and unlock awards, avatars, and backgrounds from participating in premiere tournaments similar to how they would for attending events at their FLGS.
We’re incredibly excited to bring support for premiere tournaments to KeyChain, and hope you are as well! We tip our hats and would like to give a big kudos to the team at Ghost Galaxy for making this data publicly available, which helps make this feature possible.
To be transparent, this isn’t going live immediately. There’s some work that the KeyChain team would need to do in order to handle premiere tournaments thoughtfully and with care. Currently, the team’s attention has been focused on putting the finishing touches on our upcoming Awards system — and we’re hoping to provide you with more info on that very soon. We want to continue with that as our priority. After awards are in your hands, we’ll then move over to implementing premiere tournaments.
What to Do in the Meantime (Pre-Registration)
We’ll have more details in the future, but we plan on including tournament results for the entire 2025 Vault Tour season starting with Rochester. If you’ve attended a Vault Tour this year (or plan on doing so!), we invite you to pre-register by creating a KeyChain account if you don’t have one already, which you can do by visiting the KeyChain website. Accounts can be created with a traditional email/password login, email OTP, or via SSO with either Discord or Google. Once you’re logged in, link your Master Vault account under [My Account]
Since we're still in beta, it won’t be possible yet to make new playgroups within the site, but having your account set up will ensure you’re good to go for when we’re ready to add premiere tournament results. (Psst! If you happen to organize on behalf of an LGS community, you can fill out this interest form to apply to have a playgroup created for your LGS)
We also welcome you to join and hang out in our Discord server, where you can learn more about our project, stay up-to-date on the latest announcements and release notes, and chat with our lovely beta participants! We hope to see you there!
